MedCities members contributes to the Bcn+25 discussion: Cities in the Euro-Mediterranean Partnership
This November 2020 marks the 25th anniversary of the launch of the Euro-Mediterranean Partnership, also known as Barcelona Process, a milestone in regional cooperation and multilateralism. For this official anniversary, MedCities collaborates with CIDOB in the conference that reunited some of MedCities members as Barcelona, Tunis and Izmir.
The MedCoopAlliance commemorates the 25th anniversary of the Barcelona Process looking into a post COVID19 Mediterranean reality
The Mediterranean Cooperation Alliance, a multi regional association from which MedCities takes part, is celebrating the 25 years of the Barcelona Process. To do so, it prepared an open session led by its members: CPMR Intermediterranean Commission, Arco Latino, Adriatic Ionian Euroregion & Euroregion Pyrenees Mediterranean, and the support of the Government of Catalonia. MedCoopAlliance counts also with other key actors of the Mediterranean basin cooperation.
MBPC first capacity building workshop addressing climate change and Marine Protected Areas focused on the Adriatic-Ionian region
The Mediterranean Biodiversity Protection Community (MBPC) organised its first capacity building workshop on "Climate Change and Marine Protected Area: current state and further steps related to mitigation and adaptation of MPAs". MedCities, as communication leader of the project, hosted and facilitate the online event.
The Urban Transports Community has recently organised the webinar series "Implementing Sustainable Mobiity Solutions in the Mediterranean", an open 8-weeks training series hosting practitioners and thematic experts that unveiled over 15 different pioneering city cases from across the region in some of the most relevant fields of sustainable mobility.
