    Mennieh improves solid waste management with a participatory approach

    The Union of Municipalities of Mennieh, a MedCities member, launched last August the one year program INTAJ 3 aiming at stimulating effective cooperation between local authority institutions on one side and the local communities, civil society and the private sector on the other, so to improve solid waste management and recycling services and encourage positive practices in this sector.

    On August 13, 2018, students from the Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation, Columbia University (GSAPP) together with Professor Dr. Ziad Jamaleddine (also co-founder and partner of L.E.FT Architects based in Brooklyn and Beirut) completed a three week workshop in Saida.

    GO SUMP Mid-term event and the Smart City Expo in Barcelona

    The Conferences will take place in Barcelona, the 12th and 13th of November, organised by MedCities and Metropolitan Area of Barcelona (AMB), in the frame of GO SUMP Project (Interreg MED) and SMART MR Project (Interreg Europe). It will host the partners of the Interreg MED Modular Projects from the Urban Transports Thematic Community together with the participation of the Modular projects from the Efficient Buildings and Renewable Energy Communities.

    In the final conference held in Tunis on the 24th and 25th September, Madinatouna project presented its results after more than one and a half year of work for the elaboration of city development strategies in 9 Tunisian cities.

    In the frame of the IMSWM project, the Urban Community of Al Fayhaa and the UNPD as implementing partner have recently launched a process for the elaboration of a Strategic Waste Management and Treatment Plan aiming to provide an integrated strategy for waste management in the area.
